Renovations

Kennedy's Bush Home

An entertainers dream. This home was purchased as an unfinished, partially renovated home. The renovation was re-designed and the house was added on to. The owners walked away with a new lounge, the timber trophy room, a new scullery on a completed kitchen, two new ensuites and an additional bedroom. An outdoor area was created featuring piles from an old warf, timber decking and a hand made barn door on the new woodshed. New fencing provides a nice sheltered area while the window in the fence allows you to still enjoy the view.

Christchurch Central Home

The client purchased this worn out, dated, home to do up and on-sell. The home had some earthquake damage and we later found out that it had never received it's original code of compliance when it was first built. The client  gave Glen Davidson Construction Limited free reign to make any improvements that we thought would add value and we worked with the council to ensure that the home received code of compliance although the building code had been through many changes since the building consent was first issued.

The following work was undertaken:

  • Repaint cladding (and plaster where required)

  • Repaint roof iron

  • Paint window aluminium from green to black

  • Retrofit double glazing

  • Place new driveway

  • All new landscaping including decking, planterbox seating, new ready-lawn, some new fencing and garden beds

  • Re-paint interior throughout

  • Add second bedroom, walk in wardrobe in master and ensuite

  • New carpet

  • Replace tiling throughout.

  • Update existing bathrooms

  • replace kitchen

  • Remove wall between kitchen and living area.

  • Paint fences

Character Home

This project consisted of repairs and repainting to exterior wall cladding and roof of a character 1930’s home. Also included were interior works of relining and redecorating living area walls and ceilings, remodeling bathroom and kitchen and revamping the laundry. The client was living in the home during the renovation but had planned a holiday during the construction period. We were able to ensure that bathroom renovations were completed in the week which they were away to create minimal disturbance to the client. The client was thrilled with the end result, particularly as we were able to retain historical decorative features to the soffit and roof framing as well as the ceiling plastering.
